With Our idea established pretty clearly scene by scene in our head I have decided to post the idea running through the whole video. Intro - 0.00 to 0.16 During the intro we shall have one of our main characters centered in the shot whilst the party scene is flashing around him with the amount of people changing per beat. This will look good with the pace of the intro whilst still setting apart our main character from the rest of the crowd by looking uncomfortable in the scene.
Verse 1 - 0.16 to 0.52 Verse one shall look different to the intro due to some camera movement and no longer a long shot of the whole party. It will be much more point of view involving us in the party and getting a real sense of what is going on with our main character. The main focus of the verse is a conversation/relationship building between our two characters, however, we only see our original main characters face. During this he shall be miming the lyrics but not connecting with the camera and audience therefore looking like a conversation. This idea for our verse will be followed in most verses to cut up the narrative of the rest of the video by always coming back to this point after any developments. This will leave the audience imagining what is going on when it is taken back to the party scene during a verse.
Chorus - 0.53 to 1.20 For the choruses in the song we wish to take our main character away from the party scene in to another room (a kitchen for example). This will be filmed at as if the main character is singing to us. This is where we really establish what he is feeling as the the chorus says "Doubt". Once the chorus has finished it cuts straight into different scenarios as if we the audience have told the main character to ignore his feelings and enjoy himself in the party although it is unlikely he will.
Verse 2 - 1.21 to 1.56 During verse 2 will shall bring the narrative back down to the party scene with only our main character leaving the other upstairs. As i said earlier this cuts up the narrative and leaves the audience imagination to take over and coming up with possible scenarios which will later be revealed.
Instrumental - 1.57 to 2.08 There are a few points like these throughout the song. This is where we wish to take the two main characters upstairs away from the party. This will be done by using a point of view shot from the main character we do not know the identity of. This will allow us to see the emotions the main character is feeling during the time he is being pulled around and doing actions he will later regret. We are planning to use these parts of the songs till build on the narrative quickly as the speed of the filming will be quicker which will create a sense of adrenaline which the main character would be feeling.
Chorus 2 - 2.09 to 2.36 This is pretty much the same as the previous chorus, however, there are small bits added to it. For example the main character trying to pour himself a drink and being unable and pilling it to due to the actions which are yet to be revealed. He then draws a question mark in the liquid and freshens up to head back in to the party.
Bridge - 2.37 to 3.33 his is where our other character (still unknown) joins the party again. We still do not know their identity. This is all building up to the climax where there is a short pause which drops in to a much faster sounding section of the song. This will be shown by our main character deciding to leave the party and at the front door seeing the other main character. This then leads in to a chase. This is unlikely to be shown and replaced with a montage of clips to keep with the pace of the song and still leaving the characters identity.
Chorus 3 - 3.34 to 4.00 This is again the same as the previous choruses where our main character is separate from the party and in a kitchen miming to the camera. It is these points that there is any real performance in the video.
Ending - 4.01 to 4.06 After the chorus we shall carry on with a few montage shots which slow down and show our main characters again. This is most likely to be from the point of view from our unknown character until they are together. This is when the identity of the character is revealed and turns out to be another male.
During the video there shall be other strange points like the drink being spilt and drawing a question mark in to it. One of these will be a fragment where we see a young child in a closet in focus and in the foreground out of focus people having sex. This adds to the sense of voyeurism which will be created throughout the whole video and giving the audience a hint as to the reason behind our main characters actions potentially leaving the audience believing it is an experience he had when younger.
