Filming Take Two

At our second shoot we planned to film clips for the montage and other certain parts to the plot rather than miming of the song. This was partly down to people unable to come to recreate the party scene again.
The montage clips consisted of sex scenes from the party of our two main characters. These were done using rather close shots too hide the identity of one of our characters to keep his identity unclear until the end. I believe this worked well due to good framing and positioning of the characters.
The rest of the film shoot we got clips of, our friends brother, Todd. We hope to use the clips of Todd to suggest a younger version of our main character. To do this we got both of them to sit in similar positions on a bed and mime to the camera. Using the similar positions and both singing the chorus we hope a strong link will be made due to their looks not being very similar. We also filmed Todd in a cupboard to look like he was watching two people having sex. We hope to link this in with our main character looking as if it was his past influencing to his decisions now.

Filming Plan For Shoot 2

After reviewing the footage we had from the first filming shoot during our editing we decided we did not have enough to fill the whole song leaving gaps in our video. We had also decided some footage was better than other parts and some would need to be re-filmed. We had also planned to re-shoot some of the party scene but a lot of the people could not make it making us unable to film scenes from the party.

Due to this we made a list of clips we should film to fill the gaps and help build out narrative.

A homosexual kiss
Lights being switched on.
A spinning coin.
Rolling of dice.
Protagonist looking into a mirror.
Washing hands.
Shower scene.
Crying.
Biting of lip.
Rolling/ Smoking a cigarette.
Drinking Milk.
Scrunching hair.
Key in a door.
Biting an apple.
Close up of eye opening.

Although these seems seem to have no relation to a party they are all key to the narrative of a closet homosexual.

Film Production Log

On the 16th of January 2010 we started filming for our music video. This was done at one of the locations we had planned to use from the start of the idea, our friend Jack Clegg's house.

We had previously arranged an event on facebook to help ensure we get enough people to come along to make our film seem like an authentic party. Due to this it was highly successful. We managed to get 16 out of the 20 people invited on the event to come. The extent in which the party seems real can be seen in our filming.

We set out to get as much filming done as possible. We managed to film all the way through to the second verse. This meant we are having to arrange another date to film.

This film shoot therefore was successful as it has given us the footage we need to start editing and allowing us to start getting feedback on footage we have. Once the first parts of footage are put together it will give us a sense of where the video is heading and we can find parts that we need to change or develop.

Above is the schedule we wish to use. We shall stick to this schedule closely enabling us to have the most amount of time to edit and do other work like the ancillary tasks to complete them for our final deadline. Following this schedule closely work should be completed at the highest standard as we have allowed time for this.
